Crystal Thompson, LPC
Crystal Thompson
Crystal Thompson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Development. Crystal wants to help people be the best they can be by working through their struggles. She believes in finding meaning and positivity in life and her Christian faith is the foundation for these ideals.
Education and Experience
While earning her counseling degree, Crystal began working with those experiencing domestic violence. What started out as a practicum became many years of working with people struggling with situations that were life shattering. During this time, Crystal worked with clients who were struggling with issues of anger, depression, anxiety, relationships, and parenting. She worked with men, women, and children in outreach centers, shelters, and transitional programs as individuals and in groups. Through her work she has learned there is always hope.
Clinical Approach
Crystal uses a client centered approach, looking at the whole person to see all the factors that can impact a problem. She often uses cognitive behavior therapy to look at how we think and how we can change those thoughts. Crystal also has background with family systems and looking at how each person in a family contributes to a family dynamic. Finding meaning in life is something she tries to explore with all clients.
